Claudia’s Story

Claudia is originally from the Dominican Republic. She currently lives in the Inwood neighborhood with her husband and three children. Attending the Food Pantry has allowed her to consistently put healthy food on the table for her family, including her son who has diabetes. She says that receiving consistent food packages has reduced some of the stress she feels due to economic instability. She has attended other pantries in the past but says that, “[the CIS-NYC Pantry distributes] the most food, including different vegetables…Nobody does it like them.”
