Thank you to everyone who came to our annual benefit at the Tenement Museum last night! We celebrated the work of Cabrini Immigrant Services with many friends and Missionary Sisters while learning about the history of immigrants on the Lower East Side. This is the 17th year of Cabrini Immigrant Services, and we could not be here without the help of so many incredible people. Many thanks!

Last week, our Justice for Immigrants was about the recent ICE raids. The raids of Central American migrant families haven’t happened in New York, but the normal arrests of undocumented immigrants continue. We talked about the rights of undocumented immigrants if ICE comes to your house or you encounter ICE in the street.

La semana pasada, nuestro taller de Justicia para Inmigrantes fue sobre las redadas recientes de ICE. Las redadas de las familias migrantes de Centro América no han ocurrido en la Ciudad de Nueva York, pero los arrestos de inmigrantes indocumentados normalmente continúan. Justice for Immigrants also participated in an action with the New York Immigration Coalition last Tuesday, February 23. Our member Dennisse spoke about the struggle of undocumented families like hers during the press conference. After the press conference, we participated in a “die-in” in recognition of the 83 Central American migrants who have died after ICE deported them.
